This is a start of a new year for the Mohawk Valley Lions Club, and the end of a great year past. We helped a lot of families here in the Marcola, Oregon community this year with the Christmas Baskets that we do yearly, and The Eugene Mission and Sight and Hearing as well.

We had over 70 kids participate in the Christmas Basket at the Elementary. Good turn out this year.

We also worked diligently on keeping the Lee Downing Memorial Park maintained during the winter season. Lion Kris Harris will be starting up the road crews for Adopt A Road, so we look forward to new and returning volunteers to help make our road beautiful.

Bingo is held bi-weekly and Texas Hold'Em is weekly both at our Foundation Home located next to the store on Marcola Road.

We will be doing membership drives and also have The Lions Convention coming up the end of this month.

Any one is welcome to join our club, and we look forward to seeing you there.

We usually serve dinner at our meetings, for a small fee. Always delicious!

Don't forget we have our annual pancake breakfast coming up this year.

We recently had our Sight and Hearing at the Elementary, which helped over 230 children with sight and hearing checks.

Mohawk Valley Lions Club also donated a huge bag of women's clothing and dry goods to the Eugene Mission. Anything helps if you have any donations, please contact Lion Patty Tilton. They are still in need of coats, scarves, hats and gloves.

Our recent Peace Poster winner was Josey Artememko. Congratulations!

And always, October is Eyeglass Month. Please if you have any unused or unwanted eyeglasses, please contact one of our local Lions Club Members to turn them in, they will go for a good use.

Our scrapbooks are back home safe and sound. They have been found. Thank you for finding them and returning them. Lion Eileen Marsh has updated them.

Welcome to our newest Lions Club, Lincoln City, with the help of our 2nd Vice Governor Lion Judy Kauffman, this new club is up and running and looking great.
